I’ve been living across the bay from SF for more than twenty years. I intensely dislike the place. Sure, the geography is great, but you have homeless people shitting on the sidewalk in the very shadow of the golden domes of the City Hall, along with self-righteous Liberals who would proscribe all kinds of rules and laws for everyone else, but then are rude and thoughtless to everyone else. And now? Another tech surge is bringing in another wave of yuppies.

You live on the better side of the Bay, IMO. My son goes to Cal and my sister lives in the Shepherd’s Canyon area of Oakland. Now whenever I’m up there I’m rarely in The City. I do not miss it at all. I found the place kind of depressing when it was still “good.” Now it’s just horrible.
